About Dr. Young

Dr. Alicia Young is a Licensed Clinical and Health Service Psychologist that engages in psychotherapy with individuals aged 13 and older. She graduated in 2020 with her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. She has provided psychological services in the DFW area since 2022. Dr. Young is currently pursuing board certification in Clinical Psychology.

Authentic

Dr. Young believes that growth occurs through honest, thoughtful dialogue rather than simply telling clients what they want to hear. This approach led to her being nicknamed, “Dr. Keep-It-Real” during her internship. By offering direct yet compassionate feedback, she helps clients gain deeper perspectives into their inner world—how their experiences, emotional patterns, and sense of self may influence the ways they navigate life and relationships. Dr. Young believes that therapy is a collaborative process and will not pretend to be an “expert” on your life. Instead, she will support you in establishing a personally fulfilling existence that aligns with your own values, instead of the expectations of others.

Resourceful

Dr. Young received her clinical training across a multitude of states (i.e. CA, FL, TX, GA, MN, WA, DC) and countries (i.e. South Africa, Japan). Also, as a first-generation college graduate and daughter of an Airforce Veteran, Dr. Young is very familiar with the concept of hard work. Dr. Young’s work integrates evidence-based treatments (i.e. DBT, IPT, TF-CBT) and creative person-centered approaches (i.e. Art, Music, or Process Based Therapy) to help clients identify patterns that contribute to distress while developing practical skills for emotional regulation, communication, and healthier relationships.

Some adjectives Alicia uses to describe herself are foodie, gamer, violinist, and Texas native.
